What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, and connective tissue. The nervous system controls the cells and organs in your body. Chiropractic health focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders.
The relationship between the body’s spinal cord and the nervous system that transmits signals to your body, affects your health. Proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure enables the body to heal itself under the right conditions.
A medical history is first needed which includes ongoing medical conditions, past medical and chiropractic treatments, current medications, lifestyle factors, and any surgical history to determine accurate treatment. Treatment involves manual adjustments that manipulates joints and uses controlled force to improve the quality and range of motion.
Chiropractic adjustment is a hands-on spinal manipulation, along with alternative treatments. Spinal manipulation and chiropractic care is considered a safe, effective treatment for back and neck pain; foot and ankle discomfort; shoulder, arm, hand and wrist discomfort; headaches; joint range of motion; improved posture; overall body function; improved energy; athletic performance; and surgery prevention.
Different alternative treatments used are massage, hot packs, ice packs, ultrasound, and electric muscle stimulation.
